So much of what Marion highlights on The Adventurine, from breathtaking tiaras to Lady Gaga’s onscreen looks to Art Deco designs can be found, in some variation, on the show floor of the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show. Be sure to bookmark The Adventurine and follow their Instagram account so you know what’s top-of-mind for jewelry enthusiasts across the globe. And if you’re able to make it to New York by the end of September, make a point to visit Marion’s curated exhibit, Beautiful Creatures, at the new-and-improved Gems & Minerals Halls of the American Museum of Natural History. The new halls are amazing, and Marion’s exhibit is something every serious jewelry lover needs to see. If you want to get to know Marion even better, take some time to listen to the podcast we recorded with her for our COUTURE podcast where she tells us how she fell into her chosen field, gives us some background on her life, and tells us about what it was like to curate Beautiful Creatures.

The Edit:
August 16, 2021
With so many dealers coming together under the same roof in such a short time, we couldn’t decide on just two to feature in this month’s spotlight, so instead we’re shifting our focus to one of our favorite online jewelry magazines, The Adventurine! The Adventurine was started 5 years ago by Marion Fasel, who is a highly-regarded jewelry historian, author, curator and writer. The thing we love most about Marion, other than her seemingly endless knowledge about all things jewelry, is that in her writing on The Adventurine, always and without fail, the jewelry becomes the star of the show. She’ll write about Hollywood’s latest releases, or celebrities on the red carpet or the latest celebrity scoop and yet her perspective makes it clear that the jewelry being worn is what we all need to be paying attention to, and with her infinite well of knowledge she contextualizes the jewelry she highlights in a way that gets us even more excited to read all about it (and quietly covet it).
