Dana’s unconventional upbringing as an “army brat” meant that she travelled the world with her parents as a child. These experiences served to foster her inherent sense of curiosity as well as her resounding interest in world history. After earning a degree in History from the University of California, Berkley, Dana took an internship at world-renowned auction house, Christies, where she later landed a permanent position in the Jewelry department. The nuances of the trade ignited a passion for acquiring knowledge and deepening her understanding of important fine jewelry. Her well-honed eye for craftsmanship, quality and beauty eventually led to a job as Director of Acquisitions for Fred Leighton, one of the finest retailers in the world, where she had the opportunity to purchase her favorite pieces from well-respected international sources.
The passion Dana has for her trade is evident in the careful hand-selection of each of the pieces in her ever-evolving collection. She chooses pieces with the contemporary woman in mind, encouraging her loyal clientele to wear what they love rather than store it away in a safe. Her wisdom and expertise extend beyond the intricacies of jewelry design and fabrication to the historic context of the eras represented by jewelry. She is keen on understanding why things were popular, how they were worn, and what personal sentiments they expressed, and she is delighted to share this insight with visitors to her booth at our U.S. Antique Show Events.
