At the heart of Mary Ann-Tiques, a third generation, woman-founded, women-led business is a genuine sense of curiosity and wonderment. The company started serendipitously, when a neighbor of its founder, Eleanor, inherited a suite case of antiques which included a treasure trove of jewelry, and sought Eleanor’s help in selling these unique items to the public. Along with her daughter and the company namesake, Mary Ann, Eleanor decided to try her hand at an antiques trade fair in Beverly Hills and the two sold out of their wares within 15 minutes of unpacking the suit case of wonders.
Riding a wave of enthusiasm, the mother/daughter duo immersed themselves in learning about the trade, eventually establishing a team of industry professionals and a vast wealth of knowledge and expertise. In 2001, Mary Ann’s daughter Alyssa joined the family business, mirroring the passion and vibrant devotion to antique and estate jewelry of her mother and grandmother. Under her direction, the company has expanded its focus to include sourcing incredible gems from around the globe and connecting with clients at trade shows throughout the country.
All pieces Mary Ann-Tiques sells have been personally selected and meticulously inspected by their in-house, GIA-certified gemologist. As a contemporary jewelry lover with a busy and vibrant lifestyle herself, Alyssa understands intimately the needs of a modern woman. She is adept at anticipating trends in the market, and expert at identifying particular items that will meet her client’s needs. From sweet cameo earrings to vintage Chinese Jade ear clips to a pair of bold, Wonder Woman-style cuff bracelets, Mary Ann-Tiques is a go-to destination for clients with an eclectic and current style sensibility.
