It’s that time of year again! A time for making merry with friends and family, indulging in treats and sweets, coming up with the perfect gifts for loved ones, and of course, for the U.S. Antique Show team to share with Santa (and anyone else who is listening!) just one item that’s at the top of each of our wish lists! We love compiling this list year after year. Not only is it a great way for us to showcase the wide variety of merchandize one can find on our show floor, it also gives us a glimpse into the unique personalities and tastes of our teammates.
From barware to tiaras, each of us is drawn to something very specific, and often for very specific reasons. Whether looking forward to future dinner parties, planning our dream vacation home or wanting to update our jewelry wardrobes with pieces that meet the highest standards of both form and function, these pieces put the “Ho Ho Ho” in “holiday spirit!”
Greenwald Antiques
Genevra Rao, Vice President, Operations:
My husband and I love entertaining in our home, so I’d love to update my barware with these vintage stemware glasses from Greenwald Antiques. I’m told this style, with the swirl effect in the cranberry colored bowl and contrasting, clear glass stem and base, was very popular in the late 20th Century. I love the history and know this would be a very welcome (and festive!) addtion to our tablescape.
Mantiques Modern
Erin O’Donnell, Vice President, Marketing:
Since this is a “dream” wish list, I approached the assignment with the spirit with which it was given. In my perfect world, I’d need to outfit my second home with some fabulous accent pieces; this antiuqe Goyard travel trunk would be just the thing that sets my home décor apart. This piece is circa early 20th Century, and was originally intended for long-haul travel, allowing me to reflect on the many journeys it has been taken on and sites it’s seen throughout the years.
Reed Antiques
Andrea Canady, Show Manager:
My holiday wish is this Tiffany lamp from Reed Antiques. Featuring the company’s “Poppy” motif, it dates back to the early 1900’s and would be a standout addition to my office, perfectly complementing the treasures and collectibles I’ve had the privilege of accumulating over my years working with the Original Miami Beach Antique Show.
F. Giante
Michelle Orman, Press & Communications:
I’m a gold girl through and through, and while I love layering up my necklaces, sometimes it can be daunting crafting a look that feels polished and sophisticated, but also makes a big statement. This Draperie de Décolleté necklace by Cartier crafted in 18k gold featuring diamonds takes out all of the guess work and would look beautiful as a daytime look while also perfectly accenting more formal attire.
Courtville
Courtney Woodard, Operations Manager:
The best gifts are thoughtful items someone wants but wouldn’t splurge on for themselves, like luxury versions of basics or splurge-worthy treats that feel indulgent but serve a purpose or bring joy without being essential. It highlights moving beyond necessities to offer upgrades, experiences, or unique items that show care and knowledge of the person’s desires, rather than just basic needs. So on my wish list is this late Victorian/Early Edwardian tiara…who doesn’t want to wake up on Christmas feeling like a princess!
Color Couture
Priyam Jain, Marketing Manager:
I don’t love watches easily, but I would be delighted to receive this Audemars Piguet timepiece. It really speaks to my personality. It’s such a sophisticated statement piece – refined, exudes confidence and has an unmistakable presence.
Steve Fishman
Yvonne Harris, Operations Coordinator:
I would absolutely love to receive this Bulgari brooch featuring cabochon cut rubies, emeralds and sapphires with diamond accents. Apart from the fact that brooches are the thing right now, I love the colors and the simplicity of this piece. It’s not too big or too small, so it is just right for a night out or for everyday wear.
Meghan Quigley, Account Executive:
I would love to own this authentic Louis Vuitton French Vintage Trunk set. This classic Vintage luggage makes a spirited everyday statement in a playful version of the iconic Monogram motif.
Greenwich Bazzar
Daniella Engelbert, Social Media Manager:
This piece has all of the elements of a great statement piece – colored stones, diamonds, fringe, and a belt buckle! What is there not to love?!
Hidden Treasures Jewelry
Kristi Ortoli, Senior Operations Manager
I saw something at the Coconut Grove Jewelry & Watch Show that I thought was so unique that I would love to add it to my jewelry collection. This 1940’s articulated cuckoo clock brooch is so clever and checks all of the boxes. It’s a fabulous piece of jewelry and a functioning timepiece and cuckoo clock, so it would basically be three gifts in one!
Vintage Contessa
Ambika Nainani, Operations Manager
I would love to add this Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas to my wish list because it’s a statement piece with incredible versatility. I love something that stands out, and this is definitely a conversation starter; it’s an absolute work of art!
Collectability
Gannon Brousseau, Executive Vice President, Luxury:
I would love to add this Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3700/1J to my collection. Crafted in 18k gold, this circa 1978 timepiece is illustrative of the overarching influence Gérald Genta’s design had on all of the luxury sports watches that followed. John Reardon of Collectability, the dealer who offers this piece, is not only the foremost authority on vintage Patek Philippe in the United States, but also a really terrific guy, and it would be a privledge and honor to purchase a watch from his exceptional curation.
